Houjicha
Crafted from carefully selected tea leaves grown in Kagoshima, one of Japan's most celebrated tea-growing regions.
These specially selected tencha leaves, the same leaves used to produce premium matcha, are steamed, dried, and then expertly deep-roasted to unlock its distinctive character. This meticulous roasting process develops a rich, layered profile with a flavor profile of gentle sweetness, smooth, and an earthy finish that comes from the volcanic soil of the active volcano, Sakurajima.
Fun fact: The word houjicha comes from the Japanese word houjiru (焙じる), meaning "to roast," and cha, meaning "tea."
