Tempaku Imperial Ceremonial Grade Matcha
Tempaku 天伯 — Imperial Ceremonial Matcha
Tempaku 天伯, meaning “Heavenly Earl,” is the highest-grade ceremonial matcha that we offer, produced by Uejima Tea Farm in Kyotanabe, Kyoto.
Made from the exceptional Uji Hikari and Samidori cultivars, this first-flush spring matcha is stone-milled to an exceptionally fine powder, revealing a deep, vibrant character with pronounced umami and natural sweetness.
The tea is produced by Noriyasu Uejima, a fifth-generation tea master whose family’s tea-growing tradition dates back to the mid-19th century. Uejima’s exceptional skill has earned him a place in Kyoto tea history: the only winner of the city’s long-running tea-tasting competition to achieve a perfect score.
Tempaku is a reflection of that heritage: precision, expressive, and deeply rooted in the land and traditions of Kyoto.
